Miriam Paternoster

Miriam Paternoster, Italy, Secondary, Art

I’m an Italian art teacher and I'm teaching in a Middle School of North Italy. I was born and raised in a small village of North Italy. My Secondary School education specialized in Art and Decoration and my graduation was in Academy of Fine Arts of Venice.

I then specialised in restoration at the National School of Restoration “Opificio delle Pietre Dure” in Florence, and I worked in many Italian cities.

I left Italy with my three children to accompany my husband, a general surgeon, for his volunteer work with “Doctors with Africa Cuamm” in Ethiopia and in Tanzania for four years. Later I worked as Art Teacher at Middle School in Italy and since 2011 I have lived with my family in London, Wales and Bristol, where my husband was working. Since 2008 I worked on my blog to share, swap and explore lessons, educational systems, techniques and creations in other classrooms around the world.

Mum4parents
Mum4parents is a desire to be when I grow by analyzing the data of my research for a PhD, I realized that most of the parents has a limited knowledge related to new technologies and feels inadequate in respect of their children.

Then I dreamed that a blog could become a point of reference, a space for dialogue, a place of shared reflections, a blog in which to provide the wealth of knowledge and skills that I was gradually building up.

Nadia Zaramella, Italy, Secondary, English as a Foreign Language

I live in the North-East of Italy and I teach English as a foreign language to kids aged 11-13. I believe technology can be used to support and enhance learning. I am interested in Web 2.0 and e-learning.

A little BRIT of us
The general aim of the blog is to offer practical tips and advice to enhance the learning of English as a foreign language. A little BRIT is also a classroom blog and keeps track of the various activities and projects the different classes undertake during school year.

Both English and Italian are used in this blog since I work with beginner to elementary level classes and I believe it could be off-putting and thus demotivating for my students if I confined myself to using English only.
