Classroom is a place where tremendous information and ideas that can be exchanged among children. However, in the traditional classroom the children have asked to do assembly task with tying their hands with lot of constrains. The condition is a great pity in the special schools. The reading/writing and mathematical skills exhibited by deaf people are well below that of hearing people, although their mental capabilities are the same.
The deaf children cannot able to develop the basic listening skill out of the four skills. Therefore, they cannot develop speaking skill like regular children. Only by looking the lip movement of the speaker, the deaf children might develop the listening skill. Without a fully developed first language, it is difficult to develop spoken language for them.
Even though there have been enormous developments in the area of multimedia use, such as the internet, CD-ROMs, video conferencing, e-mails, this does not guarantee a satisfactory work life for these children. Therefore, a modified informal elearning system is an urgent need for these children. So please help these children with special needs with the help of blended learning.

We are like Alice in this wonderland. But most of us hardly ever realize it! So much that we encounter every day is taken for granted, never questioned. If we dig a little deeper, there is a wonderful world of exciting things!
Wownder intends to take you just a wee bit under into this amazing rabbit hole. After all, "Wisdom begins in Wonder" - Socrates.

The Learning Pad
As a special education teacher, I wanted to find more ways to connect with my students and provide a central place where they can review & reinforce key topics, and stay up to date with class info & homework. My blog started as a place for me to post daily homework, review materials, visuals, etc.
As I've become more confident with web 2.0 tools & am always trying to learn more ways to engage my students, I've enhanced my blog to be more appealing & student-friendly. Now it offers auditory capabilities, visual notes through the use of my Livescribe Pen, interactives, flashcards, diagrams, etc...
I also use my website to post about important topics & events, and from time to time I blog about personal events that tie into my teaching career. Totally have been bitten by the blogging bug!

I am a faculty member in the mathematics department at two American Universities in Lebanon, while pursuing my Ed.D. at St Louis University, in the US.
In 2004, I taught mathematics and Arabic language, face-to-face and online in the small rural and remote villages of Northwest Alaska. In Fairbanks, I was a research scholar, conducting research on distance education and providing training to faculty members on the effective use of technology in teaching.
Concerning technology, I have been using Blackboard, Elluminate Live, blogs and wikis. I received many certificates on distance education, and became a Certified Online Instructor (COI) and published few articles as well.
From 2007 to 2009, I lived in Saudi Arabia and taught mathematics to Saudi female students in a private American University. In addition, I was an active member in the Professional Development committee on campus.
Applications of Linear Algebra
The Linear Algebra course is based on the idea of matrices. The applications of matrices in this course seem abstract, dry and difficult to understand. Hence, I created a Blog and asked students to find real life use of matrices, which I think, will make the course a bit more enjoyable, fun and the blog might entice the learning process.
