I've been teaching for 12 years in the area and 12 years in total. I'm hugely motivated by working with our students. Students from our area are Pacific Island or Maori students (99%) so they have somewhat different needs from others.

This blog is designed to promote the work of students in Room 8 at Melville Intermediate School. This school is located in the city of Hamilton in the Waikato Region of New Zealand.

We're focusing on primarily videos for the blog, material that the students can relate to. Culture of the students is hugely important so we've got a focus of Maori, Samoan and Sports related video produced by the students that means they've got a high level of engagement.
