Sergio Martín received the B.S. degree from Carlos III University of Madrid in Computer Engineering in 2006, and the M.S. degree from the Spanish University for Distance Education (UNED) in 2008. He is now studying for his PhD in Educative Technologies in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department (DIEEC) of UNED.
He is assistant professor in such institution since 2007. He has participated since 2002 as a researcher in national and international research projects related to ubiquitous computing, and mobility, specially focusing on its application on education. He has published more than 70 papers both in international journals and in international conferences. He was awarded in 2009 with the Best Paper Award in the Fourth International Multi-Conference on Computing in the Global Information Technology; and in 2007 with the 2nd best paper in the Jean Peperstraete contest in the 18th Annual Conference on Innovation in Education for Electrical and Information Engineering.
He is reviewer of international journals such as IEEE Multidisciplinary Engineering Education Magazine; and international conferences such as Frontiers in Education (2009 and 2008), UBICOMM (2009 and 2008), and IEEE EDUCON (2009). He also acts as project reviewer for the IEEE Education Society in the Spanish Chapter; and is editor of the IEEE UNED-Student Branch Magazine. He is a committee board member of the IEEE Technology Management Council of Spain, and member of the IEEE Computer Society, and IEEE Education Society.

I consider myself a learner and an educator and everything I do springs from those two habits of mind. I'm a perennial presenter at NECC, ISTE's annual meet-up of educational technologists, teachers, and administrators, and I teach K-4 technology at University School of Nashville and work one day a week at the Vanderbilt Center for Science Outreach as Teacher-in-residence.
My personal/professional web involvement has been active since 1995 and there is a trail of evidence in cyberspace to support that claim. I started blogging to report out a professional speaking trip to Japan in 2002 and since then blogging has become an integral part of my life, so much so that I created and maintain the Blogger's Hut in Second Life's ISTE Island, a little virtual building dedicated to educational blogs and blogging.

Chris M. Collins (Fleep Tuque in Second Life and on the web) is an IT Analyst in the UCit Instructional & Research Computing department at the University of Cincinnati. Chris has used the Second Life platform extensively since its public beta in 2003, and is keenly interested in the educational, cultural, economic, and political potential of virtual worlds.
She served as Co-Chair for the Second Life Best Practices in Education International Conference in 2007, and currently is the Facilitator and Project Manager for the University of Cincinnati Second Life Learning Community and Second Life Ambassador for the Ohio Learning Network.

Chris, aka Topher Zwiers in Second Life, is an an educational technologist and instructional designer primarily interested in educational application of emerging technologies, institutional technology integration, and distance learning; he currently works as Director of Training & Professional Development and as an adjunct instructor in Computer Information Technology for a two-year, community college in the Houston, Texas USA area.
Chris/Topher earned his M.S. degree in Instructional Design and is pursuing a PhD in Educational Psychology with a specialization in Learning & Technology. Chris/Topher's current research project focuses on the learning power of Second Life as a function of learning gains mitigated by the learning curve required by the Second Life interface.
