Author Chad Ratliff, whom the Blue Ridge Business Journal recently featured as one of the region’s “Top 20 Under 40 Emerging Leaders”, holds an M.Ed. from the University of Virginia and is an M.B.A. Candidate at Virginia Tech. Ratliff spent nine years as an educator in a high-poverty, micropolitan high school in Southside Virginia.
While there, he launched several innovative programs, was honored numerous times as an educator and coach, and has presented on topics in the areas of understanding students from poverty and effective schools research and policy. Ratliff continues to advocate against the inequalities that exist in our public schools. He co-founded the Spencer Chang Scholarship Foundation and continues to serve as its president.
