Steven Katz is a southern California native. He graduated from the University of California, Irvine and earned his M.Ed. in Computer-Based Education from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
He has taught at the middle school level for ten years in Los Angeles county and in Costa Rica since 2003. Mr. Katz also taught two years in the teacher credential and master’s program of education at Chapman University in Orange, California.
During his teaching career, Mr. Katz has specialized in social studies and technology, although he has been called upon to teach a variety of different subjects and be a technology coordinator, professional development coordinator, and mentor teacher.
He has been recognized in his school as Teacher of the Year, in the district as District Teacher of the Year Finalist, and was also awarded the Multiple Subject Outstanding Faculty Member at Chapman University in 2003.
He has recently written a book for teachers, Teach With Video, to help teachers integrate student video projects into any subject.
