I taught 7th and 8th grade social studies and reading at a Chicago charter school. I've also run several service-learning initiatives. In 2005, I came to the Golden Apple Foundation to launch the Teaching Excellence Network, an online community for Illinois teachers. I added the blog in March 2007, and have been writing ever since.
