Mah, Boon Yih is a full-time lecturer at Academy of Language Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Penang Campus in Penang, Malaysia. He holds two degrees: B.A. Ed. (Hons) in ELS from USM and M.A. (Applied Linguistics) from UUM.
He has registered with IACSIT, AsiaCALL, Asia TEFL, MELTA, and PELLTA. He is also a language editor of refereed journals and reviewer of international conference papers. He has published more than 15 papers in national and international conference proceedings as well as refereed journals. Mah Boon Yih's Blog has won him a Gold Medal in the 7th IID 2010 and ITEX Silver Medal in the 21st ITEX 2010.
In addition, he has garnered Silver Medal in IID Kedah 2010 and Gold Medal in IID 2010 SE. He was selected for inclusion in the "Who's Who in Science and Engineering 2011-2012 (11th Edition)" and Who's Who in Asia 2012 (2nd Edition) by Marquis Who’s Who (United States of America). His fields of interest include e-learning 2.0, weblog, language development theories, critical thinking skills and writing.
